Music

The music department offers many exciting opportunities. First rate teachers provide excellent teaching from the complete beginner to Grade 8 and around one-third of our pupils study at least one musical instrument.  

At Hull Collegiate School, we have:

3 fully-equipped music rooms, each including:

• Keyboards
• Wide range of percussion instruments from around the world
• PCs providing Sibelius 5 and Dance Ejay software

6 individual practice rooms, plus: 

• A team of 15 peripatetic music teachers
• A large stock of musical instruments available on a termly hire basis for pupils’ use

The Bacarrat Room

• The Senior Choir, Chamber Choir, Year 7 and 8 Singers, Full Orchestra, Prep Orchestra, Wind Band, Prep Choir and smaller chamber music ensembles rehearse in the historical Baccarat Room

Each pupil from Year 3 upwards has the opportunity to learn a musical instrument or have singing lessons
