A Level Results 2016

Many of the pupils at the school exceeded their target grades and the vast majority of pupils achieved their first choice of university. Almost 60% of all grades were A*-B. The school has achieved a value added of almost half a grade per pupil per subject, which is an outstanding achievement.These results have ensured pupils have secured some of the most prestigious universities and courses in the country.

There were many impressive individual performances in this year’s results, too many to mention here. Emily Heaton and Niall Ubhi who both achieved A*2A will both go on to read Medicine at Hull York Medical School (HYMS).  Emily said “Having joined the school in Year 6, I have enjoyed my time here immensely and I am now looking forward to a new chapter in my life.”

James Took who achieved 2A*A will go on to read Engineering at Durham University. James not only achieved 100% in two of his Physics papers, he was also awarded Physicist of the Year in 2015 by The Ogden Trust.

Ashley Oldershaw who obtained 3A, one of which was in Further Mathematics, will go on to the University of Leeds to read Computer Science.  Miss Dyer, Head of Maths, was thrilled that her Further Mathematicians had acquired 100% A*-B for the third year running.

Georgia Stainforth was thrilled with her 2A*A and has accepted her place to read Politics at Warwick University. She said “I have very mixed emotions about leaving the school as I have been here since Nursery, but I am very excited about going to university.”

Ben Weeks has been at the school since Year 4 and was delighted in achieving 3C B which will enables him to study Law at Hull University. Ben said, ''While I will be sad to leave, and will miss everyone, I am excited to begin the new chapter of my life. I will always be grateful to Hull Collegiate for giving me the opportunity to pursue my dreams and achieve what I never thought possible.''
