New £250k Outdoor Learning Environment
Purposeful, inspirational and challenging outdoor learning opportunities are built firmly into the heart of Hull Collegiate School Foundation Stage’s new open air learning environment. This development will provide your child with opportunities to nurture their curiosity and creativity, extend their confidence, empathy and self-esteem, and develop their communication skills, knowledge of the natural environment and ability to assess risk.
The new outdoor area for the Early Years will incorporate fully immersive sand and water discovery regions, as well as a mud kitchen ideal for mixing potions or holding a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. As your child explores further through this world of make-believe, the hobbit house under the hill will feed their imagination in story making and role play, with outdoor building and construction zones, climbing equipment and tracks and paths providing opportunities for reasoning, creative design and the development of physical strength and coordination.
A fabulous, self-contained growing area will enable your child to study a rich variety of horticulture from planting to harvest and beyond, whilst a magical secret garden entrance leads on to a wonderful woodland experience, including a safe waterside pond viewing area and an amphitheatre which can be used for plays and performances as well as outdoor cooking.
Hull Collegiate staff are thrilled about our new development, which will be perfect for bringing out “The Best in Everyone”, as we lay the foundations in stimulating our budding scientists, mechanics, engineers and artists on their paths to future success!
