Prize Giving was held at City Hall on Wednesday 21 September to a packed auditorium. Almost one thousand pupils, parents, friends, families and VIPs gathered to celebrate the school’s successes and achievements during the previous academic year and to watch the prize winners collect their awards.
The guest speaker was Professor Joe Elliott, Director of Research in the School of Education at Durham University. George Smith, former pupil and Head Prefect during 2007-2008, delivered a speech thanking both Hull Collegiate School for giving him the best preparation for university and for life and then continued to thank all the parents for giving their children the chance to come to Hull Collegiate School. Having completed his degree in Geography at Newcastle University, George will take up a position with KPMG as a trainee accountant at the end of September.
The sports report was given by Layth Hendow, Senior Prefect; the music report was given by Hippolyte Poirier, Deputy Head Prefect; the drama report was given by Victoria Maw, Senior Prefect; the Extra Curricular Activities report was given by Thomas Brown, Deputy Head Prefect and the vote of thanks was given by Charles Price, Head Prefect.
