Congratulations to our pupils who have achieved 100% marks in their GCSE and AS papers this summer.
Eddie Angel, now in Year 12, achieved an astonishing 100% in both his Latin and English Literature GCSEs. Eddie also scored 100% in three out of four Religious Studies papers with a total of 95%.
Eddie took four Latin papers and achieved a perfect 100% in each paper. He also studied Latin in his “spare time” alongside ten other GCSEs, for which he achieved 11 A* grades this summer.
“I was going to drop Latin after Year 9 as I didn’t think I was that good at it, but Mr Gilles (the school’s Latin teacher) offered to teach me in his spare time, either during lunchtime or after school during Years 10 and 11,” says Eddie. “I was quite shocked when Mr Gilles told me that I had scored perfect marks but I have enjoyed Latin so much that I’ve decided to continue with it at A level.”
Eddie is now studying French, History, Mathematics and Further Mathematics at AS Level.
The English department celebrated four other pupils' perfect marks for English Literature: Rachel Barnes, Rajan Kapur, Alex Worrell and Sarah Hess.
Rajan says, “I thought English Literature was the most difficult exam I took so I was very surprised and very happy when my English teacher, Miss Foreman, told me that I had scored 100% in both the paper and the coursework.”
Rajan is now taking AS Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Spanish.
Four other departments are also celebrating their pupils' 100% success in various papers, units and modules.
In Geography, Natayle Whitaker and John Morton both got full marks in their Unit 1 GCSE which they sat whilst still in Year 10.
In Physical Education:
In Religious Studies, eight pupils scored 100% in one or more of their four exams:
At AS level, James Jessop and Victoria Maw achieved 100% for PE 2 module and Ashley Clayton achieved 100% in his C2 Mathematics module.
Many congratulations to all the pupils.
