Many congratulations to George Maynard, Year 8, who has successfully auditioned for a place in the National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain 2012. The audition teams were hugely impressed with the standard of playing this year and, with the highest number of applications ever this year, George’s place in the Under 13 Orchestra is a huge achievement.
George, who plays the French Horn, will now take part in two week-long residential courses in the Spring and the Summer. After each course, he will then perform in public performances with the NCO at leading UK concert halls.
The NCO is Great Britain’s premier symphony orchestra for children and offers a life-changing experience with training from top professional musicians. The performances are renowned for their intensity, vivacity and commitment, but above all, their professionalism.
