Pastoral

Home / School links

We enjoy working together with parents. You know your child well, and together we can create a strong partnership that enriches and benefits your child as he or she progresses through the school. We operate an open door policy so if you need to see us about anything minor or major the Foundation staff will be here. We look forward to meeting you and watching your child discover the world around them.

Lunch

Lunch provides a great opportunity for children to further their social skills and practise table manners. The Foundation Stage children have their own dining room so that they can feel secure and happy in a friendly environment. All children can enjoy a healthy well-balanced lunch cooked in our own kitchens. The meals usually consist of a hot main course followed by a delicious old-fashioned pudding with custard. However, we are aware that every child is different and we also offer a salad bar, fresh fruit and yogurt. Our kitchens can cope with any dietary needs, always providing very tasty alternatives.

The Foundations Stage lunches are based on the whole school lunches, modified to suit younger palates. Here is an example of the Foundations Stage menu:

Tasty, healthy snacks are offered to all the Foundation Stage children and drinks of milk or water. The children especially look forward to Wednesdays which is toast day - very welcome in the middle of winter! Although we promote a healthy diet we also enjoy special treats of cake when we are celebrating children’s birthdays.
