Ask a Year 6 pupils what PGL means and they'll reply with glee "Parents, Get Lost!"
However, PGL really stands for a long weekend of outward bound adventures, team-building activities and lots of fun.
Year 6 pupils spend a long weekend (Friday to Monday) in April at the Boreatton Park centre, inear Shrewsbury. Waterproof clothing, trainers, tuck shop money and bags of enthusiasm are the pre-requisite items to bring and each year the pupils prove to themselves and each other that they are made of stern stuff.
Each activity is based around the skills-set of the individual child and everyone is encouraged to reach their own personal level. Activities include raft-building, Jacob's Ladder and archery and survival skills include building huts out of logs.
Our pupils always return home muddy, exhausted but thoroughly exhilarated!
Full details of the PGL itinerary are given to parents well in advance of the April trip and parents are encouraged to ask questions about any aspect they may be concerned about. A PGL DVD is available for parents to borrow and further details can be found on the PGL website:
