Assessment of Pupils' Progress in Curriculum Areas

We have high expectations of the pupils' work supported by a system of monitoring and assessment.

Ongoing assessments help us to deliver appropriate learning experiences for each child and provide the basis for continuity and progression. Giving pupils feedback about their work, both verbally and written, is an essential part of our assessment policy.  In addition, children are formally assessed through SATS:

SATS

Year 2 - Standardised Assessment Tests in English and Mathematics (end of Key Stage One)

Key Stage 2 - Optional Standardised Assessment Tests in English and Mathematics

Year 6 - Standardised Assessment Tests in English, Mathematics and Science (end of Key Stage Two)

Tracking System

Our whole school tracking system allows us to monitor and review pupil progress regularly ensuring that every child’s learning needs are met.

By analysing pupils’ performance against national benchmarks of attainment and progress aspirational targets are set for individual and groups of pupils. Diagnostic analysis allows us to identify strengths and weaknesses in performance which informs our lesson planning and the use of intervention programmes.
