Merit Awards

Merit certificates are awarded in assembly when a certain number of merits have been accumulated.

Rewards

Your tutor should be kept aware of the rewards you receive. You will receive a reward in the form of a "Merit" sticker which can be awarded across a wide range of activities with a particular emphasis on school work.

Your efforts and achievements may be rewarded with a Merit. If you, for example, produce:

• consistently high standard of work / effort over a number of weeks
• an exceptional piece of work
• an exceptional contribution to a House or School event /activity
• evidence of exceptional care and consideration for others
• great initiative

Your teachers will place a Merit sticker directly into your school planner.

When you accumulate 20 Merits you should inform your Form Tutor and then report to your Head of Year who will also record your achievement.

The Merits you receive will also contribute to your House Points.

Merit Certificate will be awarded when you accumulate a number of Merits as follows:

• 40 = bronze certificate
• 60 = silver certificate
• 100 = gold certificate

Certificates will be presented in assembly by the Headmaster.
