I feel that studying art at Hull Collegiate School has given me the opportunity to explore my own creativity and has also given me a whole new perspective on art in general. At A Level, I chose art and science subjects which on the surface appears to be an unusual mix, however, I do think that there are crossovers as both are very analytical.
I decided to apply to do medicine at university and I now have a conditional offer to study medicine at Cambridge. From what I know of the course, it is very in depth and will require lots of extra research. I think that the independent research skills learnt in art when finding out in depth information about artists and their work will help me with this.
Overall, I feel studying the subject has benefitted me enormously and whatever I may go on to do, I will always have a deep appreciation for art.
Laura achieved 100% in both GCSE and AS Level Art, completing her studies in 2009 when she gained 3 grade As. Laura is now studying medicine at St John's College, Cambridge.
