My daughter, Bryony, was a pupil at Hull High School until 2000 when she went to Queens' College, Cambridge to study medicine.
At the end of her third year at Cambridge, she obtained a First Class Honours degree, specialising in pharmacology. She then embarked on her clinical training, combined with studying for a PhD in pharmacology, again all at Cambridge.
Last summer she qualified as a medic, gaining a distinction in her final examinations. She has just completed her viva and been awarded her PhD. She has now started on her two years as a junior doctor and is in Sheffield for this.
None of this would have been possible without the wonderful start given by the school. By this, I do not mean only the superb science staff but also everyone else who taught and encouraged Bryony, whether it be in academic work, sport or debating/public speaking.
Thank you all!
